Parking and Transportation Services Want You to ‘Choose Transit’ This Fall
Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to “choose public transit” during the fall semester when visiting main campus to help reduce reliance on limited parking availability. Parking and Transportation Services will be conducting raffles and giving out prizes throughout the semester to people who use public transportation services rather than drive to campus.
On-campus parking availability will change due to ongoing and future construction projects.
“We want to get people on our buses, whether it’s via our Pendleton and Red routes, via the discounted Park-n-Ride lots or Tiger Commute from Greenville,” said Kat Moreland, Senior Associate Director of Parking Services. and transportation. “If you take the bus six times a week, we give you $10 in Paw Points. We do this the first three weeks of school as travel plans and routines are established. We encourage everyone to take public transit — it’s fast, free and convenient! »
Incentives will be offered to University students and employees who use Clemson Area Transit via the Red Route – which provides service from the University to downtown Clemson and on Highway 93 to Central – as well as the Pendleton Route and Tiger Commute.
Park-n-Ride locations are also available on the west side of the main campus at P-6 (Snow Outdoor Fitness and Wellness Complex) and P-5, P-7 and P-8 (covered) on the east end via the highway 76.
Please note that Lot P-6 Park-in-Ride will not be available until Monday, August 29 due to construction on the Snow Complex property. During the closure, West Park-n-Ride parking permit holders are asked to park on Ravenel Rd. on the north side of Littlejohn Coliseum with additional parking available in parking lot C-15. Permit holders are encouraged to use the orange route from Ravenel to Brackett Hall from Wednesday August 24. When the Snow Complex reopens on Monday, August 29, the West Park-n-Ride transit route will resume and all permit holders will be required to park in lot P-6 per permit guidelines.
