Texas A&M Director of Transportation Services Receives National Award
Debbie Hoffmann, Director of Transportation Services at Texas A&M University, received the President’s Award for Exemplary Leadership at the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT) National Awards sponsored by Luum at the ACT Virtual International Conference this week.
Recipients are selected by ACT President Connie McGee. The Exemplary Leadership Award recognizes a member who has made a significant contribution to the association through their leadership and commitment to ACT.
“Debbie is an outstanding leader in our industry and well deserves the Exemplary Leadership Award and we are extremely proud of her involvement with ACT and the Center for Transportation Demand Management (TDM),” said Peter Lange, Associate Vice President , Transport services. “His commitment to advancing SLM nationally and academically is aimed at improving the mobility of our country and puts these important initiatives at the forefront of our industry. “
McGee confirmed, “Over the past few years, Debbie has been a staunch ACT supporter and volunteer, ready to take on any duties required, including helping with the design of conference programs and support materials. . Debbie served as Red River Chapter Treasurer and in 2018 took on the role of Secretary of ACT’s new nonprofit, the Center for TDM.
At the virtual awards ceremony on August 5, Hoffmann said, “I am extremely touched to have been selected by ACT President Connie McGee for the Exemplary Leadership Award. The work I do for ACT is made possible by the encouragement and support I receive from department and university leadership to be active in our industry nationwide and the help I receive from members of my team who share their time and expertise for the projects we carry out for the association. It truly is a team effort and I am honored to receive it for the work Texas A&M University Transportation Services contributes to ACT.
“Debbie is a constant presence within ACT and her leadership within the Red River Chapter and nationally is extremely appreciated,” said McGee. “In recognition of her commitment to ACT, it is an honor to recognize Debbie with the 2020 President’s Award for Exemplary Leadership.
